Forensic Accounting and Business Valuation Honors

AICPA Standing Ovation Honors Chris Miller of SteelGate Advisors™ for Outstanding Accomplishments in 2016 in Forensic Accounting and Business Valuation.

The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) Standing Ovation program has recognized 25 CPAs age 40 and under for their contributions to the areas of forensic accounting and business valuation. These talented young CPAs were honored at the AICPA 2016 Forensic & Valuation Services (FVS) Conference in Nashville.

The Standing Ovation program annually recognizes young CPAs who exhibit outstanding professional achievement in specialization areas, such as forensic accounting and business valuation services. Requirements for nomination to the Standing Ovation program for the FVS specialty area include maintaining an active CPA license, being an AICPA member in good standing, and holding either a Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF) or Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) specialty credential. Nominees must be 40 years old or younger.

“The young professionals honored this year have demonstrated significant accomplishments in the areas of forensic accounting and business valuation,” said Jeannette Koger, CPA, CGMA, AICPA’s vice president of member specialization and credentialing. “The AICPA’s Standing Ovation program was developed to identify those CPAs who are rising stars in the accounting profession, particularly in their area of specialization.”

Chris Miller, CPA, ABV, CFF, serves as the Director of Valuation Services at SteelGate Advisors. Mr. Miller has more than fourteen years of experience in the areas of business valuation, consulting, litigation support and forensic accounting. His expertise covers a wide range of services including business valuations for sales, purchases, strategic planning, and gift and estate taxes; discounted cash flow forecasting, M&A analysis, financial modeling and other consulting services; and various advisory services.

“It is an honor to be recognized with this award in the field of forensic accounting and business valuation, said Miller. “I credit both current and past mentors and co-workers for providing guidance and opportunities, and look forward to providing continued superior service to my clients, firm and profession.”

In addition to business valuation and forensic accounting represented by the FVS Section, the Standing Ovation program recognizes young CPAs who exhibit exemplary professional achievement in personal financial planning and information management and technology assurance.
